Lakeshore High School Titan Band

Parents and students,

I have had to make a few adjustments in the band camp schedule for percussion, Starlites Flag Team, and for the full week of mandatory band camp.  The changes can be found on the band calendar page and below.

Percussion camp- will only be July 11-15 from 10 to 12

Starlites- DO NOT HAVE TO COME to the Freshmen/New Member marching camp during the week of July 18-22, but you do have to come to the rehearsals from 2-4 on July 19 and 21.

ALL BAND AND FLAG MEMBERS- Band camp will be from 8-12 daily during the week of July 25-29.  We will not go until 3pm.

Please mark these changes on your calendars and I’ll send out a reminder email as these events approach.

A payment schedule has been created for all members of the Starlites Flag Team.  Check your Starlites page for dates and amounts due.

Attention all new and returning band members:

The mandatory band shoe fitting is scheduled for June 28 at 11AM.  If you need to purchase marching shoes please be here with a check made out to Titan Band Boosters in the amount of $55.00 for each pair of shoes you are ordering.

Starlites Flag Team Members will have a mandatory uniform fitting on June 6 at 9AM in the LHS Band Room.  Please bring a payment of $175 with you for this fitting.  Payments need to be made out to Lakeshore High School.

Parents and students,

 Thursday, May 5 is our annual Spring Concert at Lakeshore for 7pm.  Please be sure to have your band students at school for 6:30pm so we can warm up and get ready for the concert properly.  Don’t forget your child needs to be in their concert black for this event.  No pin stripes please.

Don’t forget to send in your nominations for the 2011-2012 Titan Band Booster Board positions.  Please nominate yourself or someone else for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Members at Large.  We have to elect a new board at the May 3, 2011 Titan Band Booster Board Meeting.

Tomorrow, Friday April 22, 2011 is the Lakeshore Titan Band’s debut performance at Zephyr Stadium. Please have your band members in the band room for 4:00 sharp. We have to pack the bus, get dressed, and leave by 4:30pm. Also, if you want to see us perform you need to be in the stadium by 6:45 pm. Hope to see you all there! Have a happy and safe Spring Break!

All money and/or un-sold Zephyrs’ Tickets are due to Ms. Lizana by tomorrow April 15, 2011.   Ms. Lizana will be in the band room until 4:00pm tomorrow to collect the tickets or money.  Please call or email her if you need more information.  985-624-5046 ext. 222 or jessica.lizana@stpsb.org

Parents and students,

On Saturday, April 2, 2011 our Titan Band will be performing at the Bayou Lacombe Middle School Family Festival  at John Davis Park.  Along with your Titan Band, performances will include LHS Choir, Monteleone Junior High Band, and an appearance by the New Orleans Hornets’ Honeybees!  When I have an exact performance time I will let you all know. 

Please come out and support Bayou Lacombe Middle School.  Admission costs are $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for Children (12 and under).

Parents and students,

Next week is the annual Louisiana Music Educators’ Associations Large Ensemble Festival and this year the festival will be held at Fontainebleau High School.  The event takes place over two days, March 30 and 31, but we are scheduled to participate on March 31 at approximately 12:45 pm.  Your students need to start getting their all black concert clothes together (just like for the Christmas Concert), get their field trip forms signed by you and their teachers, and bring a packed lunch for this event.  Students will need to be picked up at 5:30 on Thursday evening from Lakeshore High School.  This is a MANDATORY event for ALL band students.  Please see Ms. Lizana if you need more details.
