Color Guard

General:

• The Colorguard performs at all football games, pep rallies, parades, and festivals that the band attends.

• All Colorguard members are required to take the Music Appreciation class at LHS.

• There is a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, May 10th at 6:00pm.

Tryouts:

• TRYOUTS WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS.

• A copy of the student’s most recent report card is needed prior to tryouts. Students must have a 2.0 GPA to audition.

• Audition clinics will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, May 11th and May 12st from 4-6pm.

• Tryouts are Friday, May 13th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the LHS Cafeteria.

• Students must wear all black for tryouts: black shirt or leotard, black shorts, black shoes (preferably jazz shoes). When the student enters the tryout room, hair must be pulled back into a bun or pony tail. No jewelry is allowed in the tryout room. Make-up is optional.

• The 2022-2023 colorguard will have a minimum of 5 students. The final number depends on scoring.

Bring to Tryouts:

• Most Recent Grades

• Medical Release Form

• Parental Permission Sheet

• Tryout Attire (Shorts, T-shirt, Socks and Tennis Shoes), Water/Snacks

Important Information to Note:

• The total cost for a new member of the colorguard is approximately $650.00. This covers all guard fees and can/will be broken down into a payment schedule once the student makes the team. The breakdown of items will become available once the team is selected.
